Bullet Backstop or Catcher

Since its getting harder and crowded to shoot at a local range i figure to look into a bullet catcher backstop. Tell me what ya think about this. I mainly want to shoot 22's but it handles the big bores too. I'm thinking about an underground range or maybe half of it under ground.

Back in the eighties I used a tire with a 1/4" thick piece of round boiler plate bolted to the back side of the tire, you could use a thicker one for 44's or 357's, the tire will flex somewhat and absorb some of the force also it will catch the lead for you to reuse. Jeff
 
Looks great if you have the land to use it, shipping might be a tad expensive.

I remember as a kid up north we shot 22 Shorts in the basement with just a metal angle trap.

I have small box in my garage with a few phone books and a 3/4" ply wood back stop. It easily stops 22lr. For test fire only.
 
Saw those at the NRA meeting last year. They looked well made and the videos were impressive.
