Look right to the right of the muzzle. Looks like a quick flash of light. Yup...that's the bullet (pretty sure). Thaught maybe a case, but all the other cases I caught on film were in a different spot. This was taken with my Nikon, using rapid fire on the camera...the trigger on gun was pulled as fast as I could

Probably not, unless you were using a very, very fast shutter speed. Even if you were at 1/1000 the bullet would have traveled roughly 1 foot during the exposure. Also, if you extend the line from the rail (which appears to be running down the center of the barrel) the light is not on the same axis. Does the streak appear in any other images? If not, maybe it is a case as that would be moving much slower.

According to your cameras EXIF data that picture was taken with a shutter of 1/160sec. Assuming the .22 is traveling 1200ft/sec that means the bullet travelled 7.5ft in the time the shutter was open. I don't think its a bullet… maybe some powder? Also it looks quite a bit lower then the barrel.
Nice pic though.

This is the closest I have done. It is only a .22 pellet, maybe 850-900fps, at the far right.

This was taken using the flash as the shutter. The flash was set at 1/128 of its full output with is roughly a 1/38,000 duration (shutter)

The only thing I see is the base of the ejected case. At 1/160, the bullet is long downrange before the shutter even opens.

ok lets take a very simple look at this pic,,, great quality photo btw, but look that the empty case flying off to the right,,, now notice the bolt has closed

this meant the bullet has already impacted the target as the bolt has had time to eject the empty and chamber a new round

now take a close look that the trigger finger,,, your still in the process of releasing the trigger

Yeah, the more I look at it, I think it might just be burning powder. That image that looks like a shell, is actually the cut off end of a tree branch.

lol wow it sure is and so is the light spot just in front of the barrel

The shell looks like a blurr and the bullet would be moving 100 times faster so I doubt you caught a bullet, it would have been cool though.

I agree it appears to be an ejected case. You won't catch a bullet leaving the barrel with a consumer grade Nikon.

Haha do people just not read threads? It is actually the cut off end of a tree branch…. The OP posted 2 additional photos of casings,
