Do I use .452 bullets in .460V? When do ya use .454 bullets in this or in the .454 Casull?
Cylinder throats are .451. Is bore standard at .451 also?
Thanks

Well,
In the cartridge drawings I just looked at, .452" is the bullet diameter for the Casull.

In modern firearms and 45 caliber, they are usually .451" for jacketed and .452" for lead.

If you had an older firearm, it may be an issue. The fact that it is a 460 tells me that it is built around the modern day standard mentioned above.

For my 460 XVR, I have Hornady 200 FTX, 250 XTP, 240 and 300 XTP mag. I also use 300 gr Speer GDHP listed for use in 454 Casull. They are ALL .452 diameter.

Thank you all for your prompt replies.
It's nice to have folks that know what the heck's going on with these newer calibers.
I hadn't "experienced" the .460 before.

As you may know the S&W460 can also fire Casull rounds and 45Colt rounds. Therefore, it only makes sense that they are the same diameter.
