Bullet recommendation

I am thinking about reloading my M1895 Nagant (just for the heck of it ). I've slugged the bore and it comes out as .314" I guess for cast I need something like .315-.316 Can anyone recommend a bullet in that range ? I don't cast myself so it better be something mass produced

Normally nice Russian bores are like .310-312 which 32 cal bullets are perfect for... Now your seems a bit large and I don't know who sizes anything that large. You could call casters and see if they can size that large, but it's kind of an odd size.

Now Grafs has plated Nagant DEWC available, but they're sized at 0.308, they may work, they may not but at least the plating will stop leading and for $13 per 100 (+$7 per order charge) it's worth a shot.

You can check with Bear CreeK they have many alternative Diameters.

Missouri Bullet Co. sells a .313 100 grain cast bullet, intended for the .32-20. It should work fine.

I notice that from various other postings, the use of .32-20 bullets seems to be very common for reloading the Nagant. It's mentioned that the case should be shortened to allow the bullet to be seated normally, not down inside the case. You can also form Nagant cases from .32-20 brass. Lee makes dies for forming Nagant cases from .32-20 and also reloading the original Nagant cases with the same die set - $32.

Thanks, DWalt. I've also received .312 Hornady XTP for my yugo Tokarev (bore .312), would those be greatly undersized ?

Probably not. You are not loading for a match revolver, so you probably wouldn't notice the difference in grouping capability. I think Hornady also makes a swaged lead bullet for .32 ACP which is .314" I'd use only lead bullets, not jacketed.

The Hornady 90 grain SWC for the .32 is a swaged lead .314 bullet.

It is soft and may be a good bullet to try. I got mine at Midway when they were cheap to shoot in a .32
