is there anyway to switch the butt stock that isnt reversable? or barring that are just really easy. my one year warrenty is past and i want a better butt stock on the thing
Well, first off, as long as you registered your rifle online or returned the warranty card within 30 days of purchase, your rifle has a lifetime service policy (see page 30 of your owner's manual).
As far as your question, the M&P 15-22 has a Mil-Spec fake "receiver extension" (it's not real, but it's the right size). Any Mil-spec collapsible stock should fit.
This question: "is there anyway to switch the butt stock that isnt reversable" doesn't make any sense.
Since the rifle uses a collapsible stock, any changes are reversible. I guess if you glued it on or pinned it, it wouldn't be reversible. Is that what you want?
Providing you don't have a compliant model with a fixed buttstock, you should just be able to pull all the way down on the lever and it will slide right off.
I don't think you should be modifying anything, if you don't even know what model you have.
Not being able to take the stock off a non-complaint model, is not comforting.
I don't know, maybe there is a language/writing barrier, that makes it hard to understand your needs.
im wanting to change the butt stock. but it wont slide off theres a screw on the slide release. ive tride unscrewing this thinking there was a pin there that came to a backstop and kept the butt from coming completely off but the screw doesnt come off. is there something im missing?
Ok, first, do you live in a ban state that requires a pinned stock? This means that your collapsible stock is fixed in one spot and cannot be moved. If so, then someone else will need to help you, since I have no experience with a pinned stock. If you are able to press the lever on your stock and slide it up and down, then you're fine.
Take a look at the first 1:30 of this video, it shows how to remove a standard M4-style stock from an AR-15 receiver extension: YouTube - AR15 Collapsable Stock Removal
If you have the Magpul MOE stock, then just press the lever, pull the stock all the way out until it stops, then press the pin down even further with your fingers (the part that the lever presses on) and slide the stock off.
