Hey guys, Bought this fine gun last week. I cannot for the life of me get the buttstock to adjust. I push the lever and it moves as it says in the manual, butt the stock wont slide. I have tried slamming it on the floor thinking it was just stuck. I have it soaking now with a few drops of oil in it to try and free it up. Any ideas?

Did you buy a Compliant model with a pinned stock? Actually if the state is correct in your Profile I'm guessing that's exactly the reason.

Is your location Massachusetts? Sounds like you have a MA-compliant rifle, one feature of which is the telescoping stock is fixed.

if you want to adjust it you will probably need pliers, a clamp, a drill press, and a hammer...

if you look closely on the side of the stock you will see the roll pin preventing movement.

*just to be clear i mean adjusting it and repinning it.

i was wondering what that pin was for. Has no mention of it in the manual. Oh how i love Mass. Thanks for the help guys.:D

lol i had the same problem i thought mines was broken. i took it back to the gunstore the owner told me adjustable isnt allowed in ny.

How did you guys NOT know you were buying "ban" weapons? Cmon dudes.

I knew that but i have not other option really living in NY other than to move. But I really want to change the stock just dont want to go to Jail or get my firearm taken away and im too scared to start drilling things.

I have seen tutorials on how to fix some magpul stocks via breaking or modifying the mechanism rather than drilling the tube. it's potentially an option if you can get the orig pin out without drilling.

Just a note to jwalts and others.... if he manages to "unpin" the pinned, non-collapsible stock, he makes the weapon illegal to own and possess in Massachusetts. In Mass the stock has to be pinned, the weapon cannot have a flash suppressor, the trigger pull has to be at least 7 lbs if I recall right and the mag can only be 10 rounds max.

Someone already mentioned that it would need to be re-pinned. Yes, technically, during that time you are violation of the AWB and the gun is illegal. I suppose if you wanted to be super safe you could remove the pistol grip during the process :D I am not aware of a min trigger pull on rifles for hand guns in MA it is 10lbs for guns sold through an FFL to be compliant. However, once the gun is yours you can do whatever you want to your trigger.
