Buyers beware!!!!!!!!

I have been a member here going on just over two years and have purchased well over 60 guns in that time frame from other members, without any issues. Unfortunately, that has come to a screeching halt.

Mid November I purchased a 686 PC posted by Stopsign32v. I sent payment as always and seller sent me an email that payment had been received and he was on his way to the FFL to ship the gun.

After making two different pick up of other guns from my FFL, during a busy times with holiday and travel, I realized the gun had not been received by my FFL. For those that I have purchased from here on the forum, you know that I use Healy's/Predator Guns in Tempe Arizona. An established store front gun store. Since I purchase sometimes multiple guns a month, I pick up guns about once a month and they are good with that.

I asked my FFL to double check as I wanted to make sure it wasn't misplaced on their end. They said nothing was logged in but a serial number would help. I sent an email to Stopsign32v asking for the serial number and he said he doesn't remember it. I then replied and asked for the tracking number and Stopsign32v replied that he didn't have a tracking number since some time had passed. I then replied to his email that it appears the gun had not been received by my FFL and a tracking number and serial number would be helpful. He instantly replied that it was suspicious that I didn't claim it had not been received until after he said he didn't have the tracking number. I explained to him an inventory was in progress but it appears it had not been received.

After three days Stopsign32v replies that since I had waited over a month to reach out to him, which was suspicious to him, he had discarded the tracking number and didn't have the serial number. Stopsign32v said there was nothing he could do, sorry.

I then asked him the name of the FFL he used so I could get the tracking number from them. Stopsign32v replied in an email saying his FFL wanted "too much" to ship, so he had sent the gun himself. Stopsign32v went on to try and turn the tables saying that I was scamming him etc etc etc. When asked how I could have the gun if it was never received by my FFL, Stopsign32v simply replies "I have my suspicions."

Despite my urging for Stopsign32v to pay me my money back, check with my FFL that it was never received, and report the gun lost/missing/stolen, Stopsign32v simply replies email after email insinuating that I received the gun and that I am scamming him.

At that point it took a lot for me to hold back what I really wanted to say to him so I sent him an email keeping it professional. I told him that he had violated our agreement that he was shipping via FFL, the gun was his until it transferred so that only he could report it missing and either way, he need to send me the money paid to him for the purchase. I gave him one week to reply. On the day of that deadline he sent an email consistent with all the others. He accused me of scamming him by "rushing" him to pay back the cost of the gun. Stopsign32v then stated he would take a week and if he couldn't figure out what happened to the gun he would make a donation to Wounded Warriors in the amount of the purchase but he would need time to sell some guns and get the money. Stopsign32v said he was making the donation because he wasn't going to give me the GUN and the MONEY, insinuating again that I received the gun.

I warned Stopsign32v that he was trying to scam wrong person and I had resources to expose him. He called it scare tactics. Interestingly this could have been handled differently had he simply acted like a normal person that shipped the gun and it was lost or stolen in the mail. I never once accused him of not shipping the gun but he goes out of his way of accusing me of having the gun, which can easily be proved as wrong since it was not received by my FFL.

Even though it appears to me that Stopsign32v is full of **** and is scamming me, I gave him an additional two weeks on top of that, so that he could not say I was rushing him. I have not heard anything back from him.

When attempting to turn the tables on me Stopsign32v stated he NEVER had any negative feed back to I sent him the following information:

ON GUNBOARDS
On 9-1-2013 Spaxspore (Senior Member) wrote negative feedback about you, basically warning people not to deal with you because you had questionable business practices.......
"All this drama because of trusting a new user with no feedback and questionable business practices; lesion learned I guess. It's the first time I have had any negative experience dealing with a member here or on any forum for that matter."

1-29-2015 Lomatil (Senior Member) gave negative feedback about you after one month of no payment after commitment to buy saying.....
"I notifyed him and asked for a money order number and to start a tracer, but none sent" you replied......
"For all I know you kept my money along with the brass. I told you I sent the money order which I did, along with $525 at the same time for a M44 sold by skywarp. I didn't know I needed to keep the stub for $15. Also please take my name out of your thread, that is very rude." " I no longer have the MO stub nor the receipt so there is no way for me to track it."
Lomatil then says......" This sounds like the BS story of the year. If the MO was cashed you can find out by checking at the post office. Anyone with any sense doesn`t get rid of a stub from a postal money order. If fact, you have to have one before you can tell the tale of getting rid of it. Your other 5 negative feed backs should tell anyone reading this what kind of a character you have. I will not respond to any more of your tall tales, you aren`t worth the effort."

********WOW! This has a similar theme as you sent something but wouldn't provide tracking number. I didn't bother looking up the other 5 negative feedbacks mentioned here.

ON SWCA FORUM:
3-2-2017 Spistols gave negative feedback on Stopsign32v for not following through on a deal and going silent after being asked for a serial number to confirm a gun's authenticity, only to trade the gun to someone else, without calling off the deal.

******* Speaks to character and serial number amnesia

FACTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE:
Gun was never received by my FFL
Stopsign32v didn't ship the gun via FFL as agreed, so it's his word that he shipped, but he cannot produce a tracking number.
When asked, Stopsign32v could not give the name of the person he spoke to at Healy's to arrange shipping
Healy's said Stopsign32v never called asking for shipping instructions or an FFL.
Healy's said that since confirming the gun was not received, Stopsign32v never called to verify with them if it was or was not received

CONCLUSION:
This is the finest forum I have ever been a part of and have meet many great and knowledgeable people on this forum. I will not allow one person's action to affect my feeling about this forum or the people here. As a police officer for 26 years, I know that one person's actions do not represent an organization. As a member of this forum, I do feel I have an obligation to warn people about Stopsign32v. If it was up to me, he would be banned from the forum so he couldn't scam another member/person. Hopefully this buyer beware warning will serve as a notice to keep others out of his way.

Thanks for reading,
