Bye-bye GVE and Allied Forces!

Huh? Did I miss something here?
I would think that a lighter, faster traveling bullet would have a flatter trajectory, over the same distance, than a slower heavier bullet. Am I missing something?

The owner happily showed me four emails from S&W big wigs. The most important was the one from the president of S&W. Followed by the marketing dept. Cust. Service dept. and the head of production. If a Smith employee is caught or named in this rumor they will be fired! The boss's want this rumor and notion shut right down. I paid for my M&P .45 and left knowing the LGS Owner has some stroke with Smith. :)

SOP when you add a new model and phase out an old model. You don't want hype of a new model robbing sales or profit from current stock in the warehouse. If word comes out that the SD is sooo much better, S&W may have to sell remaining Sigmas for a much lower profit then otherwise.

I thought handgun sales were increasing or at an all time high? Its better to break even on 3 models than lose sales to another company. You increase the value of the company, get the brand in peoples homes, rob sales back from the competition.

Personal opinion: Sigma will be dropped to 2 econo-models: stainless 9mm and .40S&W, and be darned competitive at the $250-$300AR price point. What else you gonna get that cheap? Hi-Point? Taurus? Better quality and better warranty service will knock those out. People who want melonite, looks, rail, better trigger, will spend $100 more. And customers will notice that, when they shop for a cheap sigma. Plus those sigma owners will look at S&W again when they can afford better. This is the model new car manufacturers use (to some extent), and it works well. Get the buyer in to look at a cheap ride, show them how much value there is in the next-up model, or just get them in YOUR car and upsell when they come back in a few years.

So, do we have verification that the GVE is going away too?

(BTW no disrespect to Taurus or Hi-Point, HPs go bang every time for under $200 and Taurus makes a fine machine for the $ when you work the bugs out, but cheap/ugly and try getting warranty work in brazil  )

I did call customer service and ask.

The representative told me that the GVE and Allied Forces have been discontinued.
