All the gun shops near me aren't taking any names on this amazingly hard to get pistol.

Any word on what the production schedule is on this? Any inside skinny on how I might see one before 2015?

I traded emails with S&W specifically about the California Compliant Shield and they stated that they are shipping them out on a daily basis. That said, I have yet to hear of anyone who has actually received one; private or shops. They also said that the Fall 2013 date on their website was when they felt they would be "readily available" for customers who order one at that time. Got my fingers crossed.

I have has one on back order since august. S&W are liars. Always fibbing. People say shields are hard to get or "allocated", but look on auction sites and there are plenty, so if it's listed on there, who's filling the ones that have orders of them? The Distribution system is F'upped. Send product to people who have no need for them and in different markets and refuse to send needed product to people who WANT them and willing to buy them. Makes no sense at all. I've been waiting for my Shield and a Ruger Stainless Gunsite, Plenty on Gun broker but none to my FFL's distributors. meh.

I'm in the same boat as you. Ordered mine back in October. The last time I talked to someone at Turners they said their rep said June 2013. I'm probably down on the list, but I will post the moment I get any concrete info on a date or if I have it in my hand.

M&P Shield Ca Compliant

I held a Ca compliant Shield 9mm in my hand last Wednesday at Just Guns in Sacramento. I purchased it on the spot, and pick it up next Saturday. This unicorn really does exist!

I hope you guys find one. I have enjoyed mine. Fortunately, I was able to compare prices at 3 gun stores that had them in stock and took it home that day along with the 9C.

What did they do different to them to make then California compliant?

The red colored loaded chamber indicator (LCI) that sticks out of the top suddenly makes it a "safe" gun in California.

...that along with the left wing fairy dust.

The LGS I went to was charging $499 for their Shield 40's

I got mine 2 weeks ago
