Cabela's lost my business

I have a Bass Pro and a Cabelas. It seems that Bass Pro never had .22 rimfire in stock where Cabelas always had some even during the great drought. It appears that the selection and amount of rimfire at Cabelas is slowly dwindling. I was at the main Bass Pro Shop in Springfield MO last month and the rimfire selection was pathetic.

Funny this should pop up,i was in there today lookin for gun grease, didn't see any so I asked a salesperson and the youngster looked at me like i was from another planet.he actually had to go get another salesmen and he didn't know what i was talking about either, told me you dont grease guns you oil them, lucky for me another gent about same age as me knew what i wanted and we were having a good laugh at their expense,Seems all the firearm cleaning and maintenance items are in outers kits, that's all they had no patch's no solvent or jags or mops, just pitiful, ended up going to sportsman's wearhouse they got all ill ever need, including the grease

I took a friend to the local cabela's. He asked a salesman in the gun department about high capacity magazines for a gun he owns and the guy went off on him. I'm pretty much avoiding the place now.

Good for you. Seriously.

Deal or no deal I won't support them. My local LGS gets my money.

I have 2 LGSs.

One sells list price for everything and has an attitude every single day. In his defense, he carries everything imaginable in every barrel length all the time.

The other is a good old boy and is a joy to deal with, but his inventory is sparse and every time he says he'll order something for you it never seems to come in.

The good ole days are gone...

I have a Cabelas in one of the towns I travel to once a month. At one time they carried a really good inventory of powder and primers. I normally buy primers in bulk but did use Cabelas for fill ins and bought a lot of powder there as well as some bullets and all of my gun cleaning supplies. Now the inventory is about 25-30% of what it once was and prices keep going up. There used to be a few knowledgeable people working in the gun and ammo department that could at least direct you where to look for something and now I'm not sure that the people working there can find their way home at night. It has turned into Outdoor Walmart with no customer service but not the cheap prices. I quit going in.
