Did you sing cadence songs when marching in the military?
Do you remember a favorite or two?
For example: GI beans and GI gravy,
Gee I wish I'd joined the Navy.
Or: There's a place I want to go
and it's back in Idaho.
Or: Lift your hat and show your curls
we are marching by the girls.
Most of the ones I remember would probably violate a rule.

How about you?

C130 rolling down the strip
Airborne daddy going to take a trip
Stand up, hook up, shuffle to the door
Jump on out and count to four
If my chute opens wide
I'll be landing by your side
If my chute don't open round
I'll be the first Ranger on the ground
Sound off

In boot camp.

Some guys want a BAR
I just want a candy bar
Never knew I could run so far
I still would rather go by car

My gals name is Cindy Lou
Cindy I am think of you
See you when I close my eyes
Too damn tired for it to rise

I like girls with blue eyes
Eyes as bright as blue skies
Not too many of them around
But if you look they can be found

Ok That is it for me. Any other I post will get the post deleted or merit an infraction.

Oh, so many I remember, and like others have noted, they would get me in big trouble here.

One of my favorites was the 3rd chorus(?) of "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon" - the Ft. Sam Houston, Basic Medic (91-B) school version:

Behind the door her daddy kept a shotgun
He kept it in the springtime in the merry month of May
and if you asked him why the heck he kept it
He kept it cause that Medic who was far, far away
Far away!
Far away!
He kept it cause that Medic who was far, far away.

Regards,

Dave
