I am considering the option of carrying my Performance Center Recon 9 as a duty weapon. Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use the +p+ ammunition in this weapon?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

thanks for the feedback.
I'm carrying a glock 23 now. I really like my recon and thought it would be nice to carry. the glock works well as my backup is a glock 27 - giving me interchangeable magazines and ammunition. I might just stick with that. I can enjoy my recon at the range!

thanks again.

A small amount of +p+ wont hurt your gun, like shooting dept quals etc, just make sure that you have keep a good recoil spring in it.So it will be easier on the alloy frame, and not malfunction, especially with +p+.
But I agree with Moondawg, not really needed unless required for on/off duty duty carry by your dept. Other than that I would shoot standard 9mm ammo for practice.
I shoot/carry a sub- sonic 147 that has good performance. And boy it shoots good out of my PC6906,1" at 25 yrds, same gun as yours. They are a great gun, but take care of it , I dont think at this time S/W has the ability to replace a frame ,or much anything on these older P/C autos. Bob

While I agree carrying the Glock 23 as your duty weapon and using the Glock 27 as your BUG you don't have to abandon the Recon 9. You can always carry the Recon 9 as your off-duty weapon.
