Can someone give me the manufacture year of my Model 36 J frame

I have a J frame with serial #658656 and was wanting to know the manu. date. I am trying to get info so I know what I have. Thanks

Are you sure you have the whole serial number? Model 36s usually have a J-prefix.

That's what I thought too. Maybe I need to revisit the gun and make sure it's a 36.

1969 = ends at 786544

Js in the serial # started after that.
