It's been a number of years since I ordered any parts from S&W, but I certainly did back in the day.

Can you still do this? The only parts I found on the website were listed under the "Store" and were things like grips, magazines, etc. More what I would call accessories.

I want to get some replacement extractor pins. I just used my last one replacing one that was missing form my new 27-2. Numrich shows them out of stock.

Can I still get those from the factory? Or is there another parts source you all like?

You need to call & talk to them to order gun parts.

If they're out of stock you have to keep trying back, they don't take orders if it's not in-stock.

I was on the phone yesterday with Smith & Wesson customer service. I ordered every spring for a Model 41 that I recently picked up as I want to zero the gun. I ordered 8 springs of which the firing pin spring was on backorder. The total for the order (doubled up on the recoil spring) was $14.67 including shipping and the backordered spring will be sent to me when it is back in stock. That is the usual procedure with S&W in the years I've been ordering parts from them. This same set of springs from the folks at Brownells, including shipping would have been $39.65. I'm just an amateur keeping his guns fixed. I'll probably have the parts in about a week. The mother ship is really the place to go for S&W parts.

If its a part that has to be fit, then they want the gun to do the job.
I had an extractor on a 929 that was preventing the cylinder from carrying up. Under a magnifying glass, you could see the ratchets were rough.
They wouldn't sell the extractor to me, so back to the factory it goes.
When I got it back, I was now the recipient of a revolver worked on by a untrained worker.
I immediately called and got another return label. I then thought to get my magnifying glass out to see that they never replaced the extractor.
Another phone call to the factory pleading to replace the part that was supposed to be replaced, and have a skilled worker fit it to the revolver.
After this repair, the 929 is perfect. Almost...beyond perfect. They really do have some people who know what they are doing.
So, for me it was 4 months without a 929.
With me and my wife shooting a 929 4-7 times a month in matches, plus practice, a spare 929 came to our rescue twice last year.

Well, I already ordered them from armorer951, byt maybe for laughs I'll try the factory, and see what kind of person I get
