Didn't see the intro before, but never too late,
I am a 27+ Army and 10+ LEO Veteran. Been around firearms and my entire life, and was an avid hunter, but haven't hunted in over 15 years give or take. Retired and collect old tractors, cars and trucks. And guns. 30 years ago, I had a dozen Winchester 94's but sold all but three of those through the years. Just started collecting Colt Army Specials and Official Police revolvers, and S&W Model 10's. Picked up a 12-2 a couple weeks ago on GB. I also posted about my Perfected and my Fitz project. I have other long guns to enclude shotguns, etc.
So, going into the Holiday weekend, my plan was to sell 2 guns, a scope with mounts, and a old cartridge box at the local gun show. In the spring I had traded a guy a .25 auto for a Official Police and I had forgot that I had lettered the .25. I recieved the letter from Colt a couple weeks ago, so I took that along to give to the guy I sold the .25 to. He was there and after I gave it to him, he bought one of the rifles I had with me. And then I sold everything else in about 10 minutes. I made money on all of it, but it was not anything special. So, there I am with some money, so I bought Colt .32 auto and some ammo and had to chip in 40 bucks.
Then I get home and I see that I won a Army Special on a RIA auction, that I had lowballed. So, I figured I would play along and ended up with two more. A pre-Model 10 and a Nickel Model 10. The Army Special has aged well with not much finish left. The pre-Model 10 is OK and I may have paid too much, but it has target stocks on it, so I will see what that looks like when it gets here. I, really wanted the Nickel 10 as I had and sold a K-framed Nickel 357 that I wished I would have kept. But this one is in .38, which I like better and seems to be my caliber trend for collecting. Have to have a theme. Anyways, I enjoy this site and have learned alot already. Here is picture of pictures of the Nickel 10. With all the premiums and fees, it looks like I will have around 650 into it. According to the "book", 25% for four screws and a premium for Nickel, so I think I did alright. More pictures when I get them from RIA.
So, I was supposed to sell two guns, but ended up with two more. Gun math.
Thanks for letting me be a part of the forum..
