Not to hijack the arthritis thread, so has anyone tired cannabis oil for pain? I heard of someone who used it for massage and it made the pain go away.

My grandson uses it topically to decrease the ticks he has from Tourette's. It does help him a lot. In Illinois there was a lot of paperwork for approval.

We just had a thread about this that ended a couple of weeks ago.

You can find it by clicking here.

Note that it lasted about a day before being locked.

Draw your own conclusions.

Serious question, can you fry or otherwise cook with cannabis oil? I'd imagine some donuts or chicken fried in the oil might be interesting.

Thoughts?

The FDA tested some of the CBD products sold by eleven companies in March of 2015 and found that in many cases the products contained little or no cannabidiol. This is hardly surprising given that it’s extremely challenging to make high-quality CBD extract without high-quality cannabis.

THC isn't a bad thing when combined with CBD on equal percentage... THC is a strong anti-inflammatory and pain killer, just what you need for arthritis. And the CBD offsets the high from the THC.

Top medical cannabis plants have an equal percentage of both THC and CBD, which is around 7% each. "Some Day" you will be able to grow known quality plants at home for medical.

A friend of mine has fibromyalgia and tried it. She said it was very expensive and totally worthless.

Like I said...

I'm sure in time they will be required to give percentage of CBD tested by a known lab... until them you're in the dark!

The stuff you can buy in smoke shops and online are useless. The real stuff is out there, but like someone said...it costs.

Yeah, I suspect a lot of it used to be marketed as made from snakes. I'm no giant fan of the federal government, but there might be something about trustworthy certification (as by the FDA) - which is just lacking in all this gray market stuff. (You see the same situation with the vitamin and supplement market.)

Which is why, Max, I'd advise you research folks' experiences with a specific brand (as with vitamins/supplements) instead of just the generic. And even that info might not be reliable, since batches change and there's no pharmaceutical certification of the stuff.

Me, I don't know anything about this stuff and tend to give it the same side-eye that I give acupuncture*, miracle vitamins and voodoo dolls. But, again, I don't know anything about it (except for my extrapolations regarding the validity of concerns about what is actually in the goop one finds in any given bottle).

* - anticipating the chorus of "It works miracles for me!," and not disputing those experiences.

My concern is will it show up in a drug test as a illegal substance because that could cost People their job's.
