Cannot put full magazine into my shield now

I put a couple hundred rounds through my Shield today. Everything worked great. I came home and cleaned it and filled the mag with Critical Defense rounds for conceal carry. I tried to place the mag into the firearm and it will not go all the way in. I can get both magazines in with 1 round less than they carry, but neither when they are full. I even tried different ammo. Does anybody have any ideas? I could easily slide it in with the action locked back.

To put a full mag into a closed slide requires you to compress the spring another 1/2 cartridge diameter, which is very difficult with a new mag.
Load from an open slide, as you discovered, to avoid this.

The thing is, I have put over 500 rounds through this gun and never had this problem before. Thank you for the quick reply though.

Store your 7 round mag full. Ive had mine for 2 months. I can just now load 7+1 with moderate effort.

So I cannot hurt anything by forcing the magazine in?

I just got mine today and i am having the same issue. It deff takes more than normal effort to insert the full mags. Im sure after a few weeks of being fully loaded will cure this problem

That is what I don't understand. It was fine for over 500 rounds. I was able to fill the mags. Now I can't. Thank for all the responses.

Clean the magazine ..... If you did clean it make sure the spring is in correct .

Were you trying to insert the mag on a closed slide before? It take significantly more pressure than with an open slide.
