I just heard that the latest device available to the bad guys was something that could "steal" your code that locks and unlocks your car doors when using your key fob. Went on to say that everyone should lock their car doors by using the switch inside the car - which doesn't transmit the code over the airwaves. Apparently, a perp sitting nearby can steal the code and duplicate it to open the doors. Does this sound possible, or is it maybe from someone who gets annoyed by all those nasty chirps and honks?

If they can steal the code from a garage door opener, I don't see why they couldn't steal one from a remote locker. Problem is, mine not only locks the doors, but it sets the alarm.

In the last several years, garage door openers have gone to a rolling code to prevent such problems. Car alarms may have also.
