Tales from the Faulkner Files: The hero

Enough of that , how's Daisy doing . Haven't heard one of her adventures in a while , and I'm a sucker for a dog story . Seeing as I own two Aussies , Daisy is in my thoughts .

Daisy has not done anything very adventurous lately. She and I get up at daylight several times a week and do early morning hikes. I did take a picture recently that I thought caught a funny expression on her face. We were on a trail that has a footbridge that crosses a small stream. Now, Daisy loves the water. She'll go out of her way to get in the water if I don't specifically tell her not to.

This particular morning the temps were in the 30's and as we neared the foot bridge I said out loud, "Daisy, let's walk across the bridge."

As she stepped up on the bridge she turned and looked at me as though I could read her mind. Her expression was obvious, "you know I'd rather wade across . . . . "

The 12 year old was treated and released the day of the incident, as well as the mother.

The 9 year old that was trapped was able to go home a few days later on the morning of Christmas Eve.

That is very good news, especially about the little girl who may have not made it had the EMT not crawled in there with her.

EMT's, corpsmen, medics, seldom to they get the credit they deserve for they job they do.

It is so encouraging to read about someone who may have come to a fork in the road, was about to go down the wrong path, then someone helped them figure out a better way. Good on you Faulkner. Thank you for saving a life!
