The 2000-Year-Old Man was one of the classic comedy albums we listened to endlessly as young adolescents. Reiner and Brooks, Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Bob Newhart, Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, B.S. Pulley, Slappy White, Roy Aubrey. (Bob and Ray were contemporaries as well, but I consider them in a class by themselves.)

R.I.P.

I loved reruns of the Dick Van Dyke Show when I was a kid. Carl Reiner will always be the much-feared Alan Brady to me.

I'm remember when Carl and Morey Amsterdam were in a heated insult duel and Carl was winning. Frustrated, Morey threw his hands up and said: "your hair didn't fall out...It fell in and clogged your brain."

Very funny man, sorry to hear of his loss. May he Rest In Peace ....
Mel Brooks will now be at a loss,,,losing his best friend! :(

The man was genius and a huge influence on the course of TV comedy, and best of all, he was one heckuva great guy too. Rest in peace, Mr. Reiner. Somewhere, angels are already laughing.

RIP Mr Reiner! Comedy will never be the same... But that's another story for another post!
