Well, I'm "guessing" it is sort of what I do.

I carry a Kimber Pro, a Walther PP, and a S&W 19-2.

It all depends on where I'm going and what I'm wearing as to which one I belt on. That would be my "rotation".

seasonal wardrobe might dictate some rotation to smaller arms in the summer but I carry one primary without exception. Familiarity is your friend when nothing else is

I would suggest that the fewer pistols actually carried, the better. This is for the sake of familiarity, which ups survivability in a defensive situation. I do tote compact size Glocks, J-frames and 4" K-frames, depending on the season as well as the clothing options suitable to fit my surroundings.

The defensive pistol is not a fashion statement; it is a tool to protect your hide from the evil doers out there. I choose holsters that are comfortable and quick to present from. Lobo Leather makes a fine ISP holster for 4" K frames.

Belt loops and holsters

often determine what I carry. I really prefer IWB, but sometimes waistline may make the determination. The position of belt loops determine where the holster will ride.

This week with the wind and cool wx, I have been wearing Carharts with a 329pd IWB in a Sparks holster. Most of the time I carry a revolver, and when I don't, a 1911. The exception is a P7 in a fanny pack when I know a doc is going to have me undress.

My EDC is a 442 and on those rare instances when I cannot adequately hide my 442 I go w/a Keltec P32. As has been mentioned I don't rotate due to lack of familiarity w/other weapon platforms. Our fine motor skills go south very quickly during a panic self defense situation, and that is not the time to fumble with a weapon you are unfamiliar with.

I carry a J frame as a BUG, always. My other guns vary with the seasons. It's hard to hide a 29 for example, in shorts and a T-shirt. I do make sure I shoot 300-400 rounds through my seasonal guns before carrying them again.

I carry a number of different guns depending on the need. Some times I feel like a revolver guy and others a semi-auto guy... many times it is both. I usually carry two guns but all are DAO so pull and go.

My gun closet has now been downsized for a more simple set up. My Glock is a duty gun and my Sigma is my off duty gun. My j-frame is a BUG for both guns. Problem solved :D

Sell the Sigma and buy another identical Glock.
Buy a 2nd J-Frame.
Buy 2 AR's, or if you can't afford it two 12 GA 870's.

I think that better solves your problem.

Why would I sell a perfectly good firearm for a Glock? Why would I need two J-frames or an AR. I already have one shotgun.... thats enough.

I switch around a lot with my carry guns. I just plain like guns, and I get a lot of pleasure from carrying different ones.

Sometimes I carry "worn" guns when I am working in the yard, etc. The situation, or weather also dictates the size. J,K,L, or N. Sometimes I just like to carry a polished nickle, or a real nice blue gun. Sometimes it feels nice to carry my F-Comp with the burl grips. . . . . .Then there are "light" ones, and "heavy" ones, and the 9mms, and the 380s, and the Colts . . . . ."So Many Guns, So Little Time.":)

They are all revolvers, and I practice as much as I can with each size, so to me they are all pretty much the same if it comes to defending myself. I do try to carry the largest frame that I can at the time.

I like my 1911s too. Even though I don't carry one very often I shoot them better than my revolvers, and I have big ones, and smaller ones, and rough ones, and etc.

My hobby is guns, I like them, and I enjoy carrying as many of them as practical.

Best Wishes,
Tom

I agree with Tomthe Turner.
I like my revolvers, and have several in my rotation.
By the way, I live in a fairly low threat area.

Some times I carry my 4" 617, or LCR-22. I normally carry the 22's when I think I might get a chance to burn up some ammunition in quanity.

When I go light I carry my 442 Pro Moon Clip. I carry in a Lobo Model 1 Pancake most of the time. However I also have a Nemisis and JR Roo pocket holster for Jacket Pocket carry.
I carry my reloads in California Competition Works SAM 5 Shot J Frame Moon Clip Carriers (Either one of Two) I have several TK Moon Clips for it.

Next up in size would be my 315 Night Guard. Carried in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. Either 1 or 2 reloads in Safariland Comp II Speed Loaders carried on the belt in Safariland CD-2 Spring Steel Speedloader Carriers.

Then my next up would be my 3" 66-2. Concealed Carry Perfection. Carried in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. Same Speedloaders and carrier as above.

Then we have the 4" 686. Carried in a Bianchi Pancake. Again either 1 or 2 Safariland Comp II Speedloaders carried in CD-2 Carriers. The L Frame Speed Loaders have Green Dots on the top to keep them seperate from the K Frame ones.

Then we have my 310 Night Guard. Again carried in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. Moon Clips carried in California Competition Works SAM Carriers. A Great Concealed Carry Revolver.

Then we would have the 3" 625-3 Power Custom Combat again carried in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. Moon Clips again in California Competition Works Carriers.

Then sometimes I carry my Custom 4" 610 No Dash Power Custom Combat.

My newest addition to the Rotation would be a super clean 2 Inch 15-4 Combat Masterpiece. It needs a Lobo Enhanced Pancake or Model 1 Pancake. I have not decided yet.

I not only carry all of the above. I shoot them in our Club Matches. I rotate through 2, 3, or 4 revolvers in our Outlaw IDPA Match which has a Rimfire Division as well as a BUG Divisions that you can shoot either Rimfire or Center Fire in. I may only shoot 1 or 2 of my Revolvers in our Steel Challange match.
I also carry my Custom 1911 some.
If I only owned one ar two concealed carry handguns I would live. However I like lots of different handguns and I do not collect Safe Queens.

You can carry several different handguns in a rotation if you:
Shoot them all a great deal.
Carry them in the same holsters and location on the belt.
Carry your reloads in the same location all the time.

How are you going to determine what the BEST Concealed Carry handgun is, if you only carry one.
Variety is the Spice of Life.

Because Glocks are better.
And it makes no sense to have two similar weapons systems that are not identical.

I learned some of this during my 6 trips to Thunder Ranch and as a full time paid LEO.

Shotguns are good. AR's are better.

"one is none, two is one".

I was just trying to be helpful, but if you have not had current training, it may not make sense to you. And I agree, one shotgun is enough, if you have two AR's.

I really like to rotate my carry guns for the purpose of continued familiarization. When carrying a particular gun, I like to take opportunities throughout the day to consider the carry of each gun, the feel of it, the manual of arms of this particular gun, and most importantly, I'll run through a few draws from the holster at the end of the day before it's put up for the evening. For me, it's about maintaining a "feel" for the gun. I would never consider carrying a gun that I'm unfamiliar with. Your draw and utilization of a handgun must be a "knee-jerk" reaction when you need it, and it will be slow and clumsy if your gun is an "every now and then" gun.

I carry from one to three pistols and revolvers plus spare magazines or speed loaders depending on time of year, what I am wearing, what I am doing, and where I am going.

I pocket carry one of two Sig P238 HDW .380 AP pistols and a spare magazine in my home or yard. When I go to town, I add one of three 1911 .45 ACP pistols OWB at 3:00 o'clock and a spare magazine at 9:00 o'clock.

If I take my dog for a walk in our neighborhood, I swap the 1911 for a Glock G20SF 10mm and two spare magazines. To the north is town, to the south is rural with the potential of meeting coyote, mountain lion, or rabid wildlife. A mountain lion recently killed some goats less than a mile south of my home.

In the summer wearing shorts and an un-tucked oversized shirt or t-shirt, I find concealing an S&W .357 magnum revolver or two with smooth wood grips is easier than a blocky pistol. The rubber type grips cause my shirt to bunch up.

In the Oregon woods, I go with a .44 magnum revolver. If there is a potential of meeting a brown bear or a pissed off moose, I go with an S&W 460XVR.

I am left-handed and right eye dominant. I normally carry and shoot right-handed. I can qualify equally well with either hand. Weak hand drills are a snap.

I agree with the other members, in that what I carry depends on where I am going and what I will be doing. That being said, the following two handguns are the ones I predominantly carry:
1. S&W 629 Revolver - .44 MAG with non-fluted cylinder
2. Beretta PX4-Storm "Special Duty" - .45 ACP
The above being said, I must confess that my Beretta Special Duty is carried more often (probably 85% of the time) and in a Blackhawk Serpa CQC holster (which carries my Beretta tight to my body allowing for great concealment).

In my opinion, when it comes to concealed carry, one cannot simply look at the handgun alone, but must also take into consideration the holster that will be used. Depending on the persons body build and the above two considerations, a person could carry a full size handgun concealed! It is all a matter of what the person is more comfortable with!

Of course just my 2 cents.....

I have only three handguns in my rotation. A 3" 65, my favorite, is what I carry when I know I'm in low crime potential areas. A 442 when deep conceal is necessary and as a back up. A Glock G19 is what I carry the most, I can conceal it year round.
