I am not trying to Bash another Site. What I want to report is Carry Concealed is not up to date. They are reporting incorrect info that can get someone arrested. They are still reporting that Nevada honors a Utah and Florida permit. This has not been true since on or about July 1, 2009. I do not believe anyone is keeping the site up. The news sections last entry is January 2009. They are not reporting additional Reciprocity agreements for the last 6 months. Not reporting them will not get someone arrested. Reporting that states will honor a permit that they don't can. I am making this post because I see ConcealedCarry.net posted as a source for info on many Forums. I don't want to see anyone lose their rights to carry because of something in error on a website.

I have emailed CarryConcealed.net twice telling them of their errors and to please correct them. Especially that Nevada will not honor a Utah and Florida Permit. I have received no reply. Don't trust what you see on any website. Use them as a source to guide you to state sources etc. Go to the source for the state you want info about. Never forget that ignorance of the law is not defense. No LEO or Judge is going to take into consideration that carry is legal etc because you read it on the internet.

Again I am not trying to bash ConcealedCarry.net. If you take on the task of supplying information on firearms you must keep it up to date and if not you need to take it all down. I have been supplying info on Firearm Laws for 15 years now and I have received many emails over the years and people see what is on the net and believe it is true. Do be careful out there.

Here is the link to The State of Nevada's Web site that lists the states they honor. You will see that Utah and Florida are not listed. You can check out ConcealedCarry.net and see for yourself.

you should try usacarry.com they may be able to help you. but im not sure how often they update thier info. state laws are fast changing and in tennessee we are no longer allowed to carry where alcohol is served and consumed on the property. wich is retarted cuz a permit holder should be able to carry so long they are not consuming alcohol.

handgunlaw.us also has errors for Georgia that have been reported but not fixed. They say carry in a reststop is legal. It is not.

The 'law sites' make good starting points but you've got to do the verification yourself.

JWiley, Please point out any errors on the GA page at Handgunlaw.us. I answer every email that is sent to Handgunlaw.us and I have not seen one from anyone about an error on the Georgia Page in the last year or so. I will update it once I confirm the info. As for the Rest Stop item The GA page at Handgunlaw.us states it is legal. The reference to not being able to carry in the Buildings at the rest stop was removed when I updated the page. Here is what is listed on the updates to GA page:
1/16/09 – Carry in State Parks/WMA/State National Forests/Road Side Rests updated with new law.
Carry not allowed in buildings on these locations Removed.

IF anyone sees anything that they believe is in error on Handgunlaw.us email me using the contact us at the bottom of the page at handgunlaw.us. If you can supply links to confirm the data it would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that carry is permitted at rest stops along Interstate highways according to Federal Law.
In this instance, Federal Law superseeds any state or local restrictions.
Gary, perhaps you could clarify this for us?

The State owns and controls all rest stops on the interstate highway system. If the feds owned them the carry would not be allowed in any of them as they would be a federal building. Federal law concerning transportation of firearms applies at all rest stops meaning you can have a firearm unloaded and secured in the trunk or in a closed container that is unreachable by the occupants.

Peaceable journey....

Concealed Carry still incorrectly shows that WV does NOT honor non-resident permits. This info is also out dated. WV does honor non-resident permits now- a recent change when the legislature revised and updated State Code addressing concealed weapons permits.

The site has had no updates since early January. Them not listing WV honor non resident permits and other Agreements that have been signed in the last 10 months will not get someone arrested. Them showing that Nevada still honor a FL and UT permit can get someone arrested.

A poster on another site said he contacted them and they got right back to him and said they were updating it right now. That was 9am this morning Eastern time. It has still not been updated.

The thing is someone has to be paying to keep the site up on the net.
