I'm new to using a revolver for concealed carry. I will appreciate ideas on how best to carry extra rounds & reload if needed. The Speed Loaders look bulky. Speed Strips look interesting. Are pouches/cases available for them? Thanks.

I have used a Bianchi speed strip carried in a Galco 2x2x2 on the belt.

I use Safari Land speedloaders. Push in and gravity feeds them. I take at least one with me and more when the situation/environment dictates. I put them in the pocket of my vest (non tactical not to look armed) or in the pocket of my sport coat. It helps swing the coat or vest out of the way for a draw. Any good speed loader requires little operational thinking. Of course practice with whatever you carry is essential. Needs to be so practiced it is natural. Hopefully two well placed shots cures the situation but hope is not a strategy. Good luck.

Speed strips work for me. I have some speed loaders and pouches to carry them in. They are too bulky for concealed carry for my taste though. I use them mainly for quick reloads at the range. A speed strip or two in the off-hand pocket work better for concealed carry IMO.

Thanks for the input. My gun is a .38. How are you all carrying your speed strips?

The quickest reload is a second gun! A speed loader with rounds on both sides of your belt secured with double sided Velcro. My last choice is a speed strip in a watch pocket or fake cell phone pouch.

I just use a speed strip in my pocket. (Weak side)

Shoulder rig has two pouches for speedloaders on off side.
Also carry a few loose rounds in vest pocket, for partial reload....

Speed loaders are indeed bulky, but probably the fastest way to reload a revolver. Speed strips are much easier to carry and probably a close second in deployment. This video demonstrates their use:

I carry a speed strip fully loaded (no empty slots) on my right hip in a pouch made by Ryan Grizzle. But you can also carry them in your pants pocket or whatever pockets you have available.

A speed strip fits nicely in the watch pocket of my Wranglers. I also have an old Bianchi belt pouch that is really unobtrusive, which I carry at about 3:30. Both used with a 642 in a Glaco horsehide pocket holster.

Remember that you will be using your strong hand for the reload.

I carry a couple of Safariland Comp I speedloaders in JOX speedloader pouches on my belt. Very fast and secure. I wear my gun on my right side and my reloads on my left side as I use the deBethencourt left-hand reload method; it works for me. The JOX pouches work with the way I dress.

When I used strips I used 6-round Quick Strips loaded with 4 rounds, using a 1-1-0-1-1-0 pattern. It makes reloading less fumble-prone for me. I usually carried 2 strips, one in a Simply Rugged ammo pouch on my belt and another in a Side Guard Holsters pocket pouch in my pocket.

I carry speed strips in my weak hand rear pocket during warm weather and Safariland speed loaders in my weak hand jacket pocket during cold weather.

When I carry my Shield 9 I carry an extra magazine in my weak side pocket. And if I'm carry my 640 Pro it's a speed strip in my weak side pocket.

Speed Strips in the watch pocket

I also carry and practice with a "Speed Strip" in the watch pocket of my jeans (strong side). Just remember to check all of your pockets before throwing them in the laundry. I have washed a few strips of Gold Dots, taking them out of my carry rotation, but they always go bang at the range.
