Can someone here refinish my hammer and trigger?
Previous owner "jeweled" them.
Please DM me price.

I had Bobby Tyler at Tyler Gun Works re-case harden a hammer and trigger for a model 25 that someone had polished before I got it. Reasonable, fast, and they looked great. These were polished not jeweled so I don't know how much more of a project yours would be.

I'll definitely give it a try, thanks for the info.

I'm not sure what the cost of doing that would be.
May be just as easy and cheap to drop replacement ones in.

Trying to calculate the if is cheaper to buy or refinish, the ones I've found are in bad shape.

You don't say if you are looking for a rimfire or a centerfire hammer. I can help you out with a centerfire one if that is what you need.
Mike

I just found one on ebay. Thanks for the offer, the sight of the jeweled trigger and hammer was killing me.

There are usually vendors at LGS's that sell unused vintage hammers, triggers etc. Sometimes they are the part only without the springs, pins etc. but you could just use the old parts in the new hammer & trigger.

To refinish your jeweled parts they would require sanding to remove that before re-color case hardening. That in-turn will reduce the thickness a bit.

IMHO, take your time and look for vintage parts. In the long run it will probably coast less and give you a better and original finish. Just my opinion.
