I had been saving a little scratch to get a Ruger LC9s Pro. I have an original LC9 I like a lot and a Shield 9mm so there was no big hurry to get the Pro. But I walked into a gun shop and they had a 3953 with three mags for $450. I used to carry a 3953 all the time in a Kramer #2 with an extra mag in my back pocket.

My mechanic ended up the that gun and holster during tough times. I always thought the 3953 was the best little gun Smith ever made. They have really dried up now days and this gun was pretty crisp. I got away from it.

I kept thinking about it though. Every day that gun crossed my mind. After about a week I was sure it had sold. I started putting it out of my mind. Then one night I had a dream about it. That was strange.

A couple days later I went back by and to my amazement the gun was still there. I decided to go ahead and get it. We settled on $400. Not too bad. I cleaned it up and shot it a little and it ran fine. I think I'm going to get a JAK slide for it and tote it around some. I can get a Pro any time. Just couldn't help it.

That about sums it up,..........."I can get a Pro any time." The 3953 takes a fair amount of searching or some exceedingly good luck. I've searched my way into a couple in the last year, but not quite the deal you got there(although I did inadvertently steal a 3954).

That's a nice one. Hang on to it.

The S&W 3953 is also my favorite carry gun, I am wearing it now.

Great choice and an excellent price too! :) And yes, you can get the Ruger LC9s Pro anytime. :D Trust me... there will be no shortage. ;)

LOL! It was yours, you just didn't know it right off...

They say if there is something you might want, let it sit, ponder and if you still want it a day or two later; buy it!

I did change the trigger spring in my 3953, and I really like the trigger now. And no misfires or light strikes.

Good catch! That is a sweet little piece. You are way ahead with the 3953 over the Ruger! Congrats. That's how I felt when I found the 669 on a 6906 frame for $400 out the door! I pick mine up out of "jail" on saturday. I can't wait.
