I have a 1905 4th change with an extremely light single action trigger, double action is acceptable. What are the most common causes for this condition and are the parts if needed readily available?

light trigger

all the ones I have come accross are kight. have you tested for push-off? if it doesn't push off it's probably o.k.

when you test for push off be careful. if you push to hard you can roll over the contact point between the hammer and trigger. when you cock to single action push on the hammer spur with your thumb only to the point you thumb nail starts to turn white. if it doesnt push off you are ok. if it does you can probably sharpen the trigger. the case hardening if very shallow so you can't stone it very much or it will break through the case hardening to the soft interior.
