I have found that pocket carry in dockers won't work for me. I would like some suggestion on deep concealment.
I am wanting to carry a j frame or a 3" 1911 and am limited to pull over Polo shirts and dress pants...I think a tuckable iwb might work but the polo fits rather snug and I cannot print...I have looked at ankle carry but that is proposing a new set of issues.

I know some of you guys are in this boat too ...help me find a good option...I have thought about a naa mini in 22 mag but I really prefer 38 or bigger...

Thanks for the insight...

A few random thoughts

Something like smart carry and a thin auto such as a Kahr MK9/PM9 might work well.

Also you could buy your shirts a little large and loose and leave them tucked but with enough to hang out and over the belt if using a tuckable.

I would get the NAA mini as a BUG, or when even deeper concealment is needed. It would be far from ideal, but you could put the main gun on your ankle and keep the NAA in the front pocket for quicker access. One of those NAA pocket holsters and keys in the bottom of the pocket would make the mini revolver look nondescript. That's what I do with my NAA mini and Black Widow.

go with a tuckable IWB with a LOT of forward cant at your 3:30 to 4:00 as long as the holster does it's job and draws the butt of the pistol in you won't have an issue, IWB with any j frame can usually take care of the jframe though

There are multiple IWB holsters that afford appropriate "coverage." J-hook holsters are, obviously, the best. I prefer Galco 158's and ActiveProGear holsters.

One can, if equipped with the proper holster wearing whilst said holster appropriately, easily conceal a j-frame gun.

Be safe.

You might take a look at a Belly Band. Jay Pee used to make them, but I think Bianchi makes them now.

I have used one a fair amount.

Also you might try buying you Dockers a little looser, I have no problem carrying a S&W Bodyguard in my front pocket...

Tight pants are for the Ladies....

An ankle holster is better than no gun at all. look at the Eagle Ankle holster...

Also if you have a decent sized gun in an ankle holster, then you can carry a "tiny" gun in your pocket.

I went up two inches in waist size so that I could carry IWB and one shirt size...gotta remember you're trying to hide something there, lol!

I also like the belly band. Mine is a Bianchi Ranger. I have concealed a Glock 27 and J,K,L and even N-Frame revolvers under tucked in shirts in total comfort. I once carried my 640-1 under a tucked in shirt for 17 hours straight and never even felt it. It's that comfortable. You can take off your jacket and nobody notices. I wear mine strong side behind the hip.
You also may want to check out the Kramer Confidant shirt holster. It has a holster under each arm. Conceals the Glock 27 very well and can carry a mag on the other side. J-Frames work good in it too. I leave 2 buttons unbuttoned under my tie and just slide my hand in to gun. It's not as slow as it looks. I highly recommend both of these for deep cover.

Try a pair of Bill's Khakis. They cost a bit more than most, but they wear like iron and will last for years The pockets are deep and large enough to carry a 3" S&W Model 65 or a Glock 23 if need be. A J frame or Detective Special in a pocket holster virtually disappears in these full-cut pants.

A Galco belly band may suit your needs as well as any. I have two of them and routinely wear them.

A subject that I have not seen discussed on this site is that concealed carry is tough on clothes, auto upholstery and other things. Waist carry will wear clothes worse than any other method. A belly band reduces this wear to a minimum and almost does away with damage to auto interior, depending on how you wear it.

At my full-time job, I am usually in a polo-type shirt with kakhis or jeans. The Kholster - a tuckable IWB - works very well for me. With the polo tucked and bloused a bit, my sidearm is invisible. As with most holsters, a good belt also helps a bunch...

Kholster

I am going to be a different on this one and suggest an ankle holster. I have started carrying my 640-1 in a Desantis ankle holster recently and it works great. It is true that the draw from an ankle holster is less then ideal, but to me the having to untuck or partially unbutton a shirt isn't ideal either. Personally, I would give both a try and see which style you like better.

+1
I know the OP said that ankle carry presents some issues for him but he didn't elaborate. When I work in the hospital I wear scrubs and an ankle holster works great for me.

This is could be worth a try . It is only 50 bucks or so . Maybe 10 or so of us should pitch in 5 or 10 and one of the members who is needing a carry system can have it in return for posting an evaluation . I would offer ten via paypal to who ever offers themself as a tester . Let me know by PM or email .
Great info and video dramatisation . I hope the link works . If you see porn , it must be from some of those Colt people .
A Better Holster
