Ceramic Coating for Automobiles

Lee and his Moderators have a significant role in keeping us gracious.

On car care, oil/filter changes, running gear, steering, tires, brakes, and shocks are important. My truck is going to get dinged in public parking lots, sometimes I get in it with dirty clothes, it doesn't always stay on paved roads. Show room pristine isn't here but regular interior cleaning and vacuum the carpets I do regularly.

Last year I replaced my truck's seat covers. They had couple years old dog puke on the passenger side.

Lost track of how much poop & pee I've hosed out of the bed. :D

17 yrs old. 68k mi.
No special paint sealants.
Just regular cleanings and garage life.
Probably been "washed" with water 20 or so times i its life.
It rarely gets dirty(doesnt see rain or in-climate weather) just gets dusty setting so it see ALOT os detail spray and waxing.

Need to get after it with the clay bar again at the moment.

This one however is lucky to get run through the drive through car wash.
Vac out dog hair and dirt as needed however.

The above on my land is the reason I sold this truck. It was regularly cleaned and detailed.

I use Meguiars Instant Ceramic.

Works unbelievably well and stupid easy to use. The future is here.

According to Meguiars, it lasts longer than their best wax. I can attest to that.

Is that the same as the "Hybrid Ceramic" spray wax they make? I've used that and it's fantastic. Goes a long way. I had to wax my 40' fifth wheel and it was easy to use and the job went relatively fast.

I have yet to test their claim that you can re-apply by just spraying in on and then hosing it off.

You really haven't lived until you've hand waxed a huge RV. It's like waxing 10 cars at once.

The hybrid ceramics are great. A lot easier to apply and not that much difference in price than a mid-range wax.
There is no longer reason to use the old clay bar. There is/are a company(s) that make a claying cloth.

Yep, that's it.

You do the primer coat first.

The next time you wash it, and from then on, just spritz the stuff on the wet vehicle, rinse, then towel dry. Stupid easy.

I used to spend hours washing and then waxing. This instant stuff takes twenty-minutes total, including washing and treating.
