Has anyone experience changing/swapping the upper on their M&P Sport? What was your experience? What Upper did you choose?

Thanks!

It took 2 seconds. Not much of an experience. Was about the same as changing mags

My Colt upper my friend wanted to try on his M&P.

I bought a new upper with bcg for my M&P. It was a Radical Firearms upper.

18" 416-R Stainless Steel Hand Lapped Match Grade barrel, with Rifle Length gas system.
1/2x28 Thread Pitch, with a 1:8 Twist Rate
Melonite M16 cut, Full Auto Bolt Carrier Group, HPT and MPI.
Ships with Radical Firearms Zero Impulse 3-Port Muzzle Brake
15" free float Radical Firearms M-LOK FCR rail.

It's a nice upper. I'm shooting 1-1.5 MOA with good ammo. I think it is capable of better accuracy but any shortcomings is shooter related.

The nice thing is that I still have my M&P upper with a nice red dot on it. It's zeroed for short distances.

just don't use the old bolt with the new upper - keep the bolt together with the same upper.

only issue for most people is they now see an upper sitting around so must be time for another lower - of course I don't need a reason to buy another upper or lower other than just because I want it

I did for a while until I put a matching lower on the second upper. And again on the third upper until it found a matching lower.

Yep, additional uppers always seem to turn into additional rifles!

Ain't that the truth. Upper and lowers like mates.

I'd get a second upper if you want to switch calibers to say a .300blk. If you want a more accurate .223/5.56 with better parts, just buy another whole rifle IMO.

Bought a Hardened Arms 300 BLK upper and use my S&W MP 15 lower when I want a change of pace

Radical 300 blk upper shoots awesome with my mp15 lower. Takes less then 10 seconds to swap out. The problem is the addiction to the AR platforms with mods and furniture, it's worse then a crack addict

300BLK

I bought an upper in 300BLK,My other upper is 223. Both are outfitted with corresponding NIKON BDC Scopes and 1 piece mounts. Using the same mags and lower is nice.

Huh? Wuh? Okay, okay, just come out and say it, yer a tinkerer!:D

What is your impression of the quality of the Radical upper? Accuracy? I'm interested in a 7.62x39 upper for hog hunting. They show promise.

If I had to do it all over again... I'd stay the heck away from Radical Firearms. Fit and finish were not good. I had to send the first one back and they replaced the upper receiver and barrel.

Even then I couldn't get the accuracy out of it I expected out of a "match grade" barrel. So, I replaced the barrel with a Ballistics Advantage. I needed the proprietary tool to torque the hand guards to spec. I emailed them and they said I should buy an armorers wrench. THANKS FOR NOTHING! I have one... if it were that simple I wouldn't have asked.

Needless to say... I WILL NEVER purchase anything from them.

AR newbie here-

How easy is it to convert an AR to 9mm? Any suggestions on a cost-efficient way to do so?

I'm not sure that there is a truly cost efficient way. As a rule of thumb a 9mm AR will run 10 to 20% more than a standard AR to build. To convert your lower to accept 9mm mags you'll need a converter which for a good one will run you close to 200, there are some for less but they don't work all that well. If your running a standard AR fire group the upper will require a enhanced bolt so that the fire control can be used, like has already be said it isn't difficult just takes money.
