Changing attitudes about concealed carry

I've observed less of a correlation between one's left or right leanings and one's feelings toward CC than the media and politicians would like us to believe. I think it is just another of many issues to keep people divided and easier to control. I know a few very, very conservative folks who would not own or even touch a gun. I know some very liberal folks who are enthusiasts, and some who carry. It seems that personal background and upbringing have more to do with it than which talking heads you like better. That's just my personal experience though. Maybe I just know a bunch of decent people.

its the change that berry pushed that accelerated the overall push for guns much less CCW. Without getting censored on this site, you can figure out the rest. Stay safe.

Aloha,

I got married late in life(45).

Never could find a woman who could put up with my interests.

When I met my Wife, I dated her in a Dodge 4 X 4 Power Wagon with a 4 bbl V-8. She likes Big cars with Big V-8.

I took her out in my 13' Boston Whaler, weather man lied, turned out to be Victory at Sea. Her family in Minnesota had several boats. Her comment was if the boat flips, stay with it and we'll be rescued.

Finally I took her shooting. Shot out the X ring (50 yards)with my 10/22. She wanted to shoot cans etc. Told her not here or any place else due to Hawaii's gun laws. Made her very unhappy.

If Hawaii had CCW, I'd be standing in line Behind her.

We are both NRA Instructors.

We have His & Hers gun safes.

Been together 25 years.

When she retires,

we plan to move to Texas Hill Country.

Her family in Texas are waiting for us.

I was walking the dog in the woods with a few neighbors a couple of weeks ago and the wife of one of them noticed I was carrying a gun. She said: "Oh, that's the first I've noticed you have a gun on you." I said: "Yeah, you never know who you'll run into." She said: "Well, we've had pretty good luck so far." I said: "Exactly", and left it at that. Why bother?

Can't wait for her reaction if she sees me running around the woods with my Ruger Bisley with the stag grips in my western belt and holster and those big .45 Buffalo Bore rounds in the loops!

Yogi, I was at a bar on Molokai on my honeymoon..Wonder if you know the place? Can't remember the name of it, but it was off the beaten track, not hooked up with the resort or a hotel of any type. This was 20 years ago. The travel agent at the Royal Lahaina on Maui told us to: "Go this bar on your last day, it will be interesting." We were bored and went to that bar on our first day and couldn't figure out what the draw was. We went back to Maui and the guy told us that they have cross dressing waiters there on Friday....Or some day.....

Anyway, when we were there some local started trying to incite me, out of the blue. I hadn't said anything to him or looked at him or anything. He kept saying: "Are you trying to GRIND me?!?!" I'd never heard that expression before and just ignored him. He had a good-sized buck knife on his belt and a big 2' knife-like scar down his back. Glad I had my gun with me then! Wife kept saying, "let's go, let's go." I said: "I'm not leaving here til I finish my beer....." The guy never made a move other than verbally messing with me.

Any idea what bar that was??? Kind of in the middle of nowhere as I recall.
