Charlie Daniels- Uneasy Rider

In the wake of my mourning of good ol' boy Charlie Daniels I've been binge listening to his stuff today. Anybody else think Uneasy Rider sounds like Johnny's One Piece at a Time or A Boy Named Sue? Or maybe its vise versa, anyways- Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes? George and I would like to know.

I think Uneasy Rider is older; IIRC it is from '73 or '74.

Times sure have changed. I could only hear that song on the rock stations back then. I guess they thought it was too much with a couple of references it contained. These days It doesn't get any air play that I've heard.

RIP Charlie Daniels, You sure showed them how it's done.

I remember it getting played on rock stations in 73. It is more of a chant than traditionally sung, so comparing it to Cash is valid.
OTOH, Still in Saigon is more traditionally sung.
