That's in wonderful shape and it's nice to have the original box. I now have a growing collection of pre-19's and 19's, I really like them. It's really a great all around revolver, the right looks, size, weight and firepower.

As a side note, that must be around the time that the radius outline at the bottom of the checkering made a longer curve and the switchover to goncalo alves. My earlier ones have a sharper turn like shown below with walnut stocks.

Combat Magnums are my favorite SW's !
My closest two are:
Model 19, Blue, 4", Serial K 411823 Shipped March 1961 .

Model 19 Blue, 4" ,Serial K 422034 Shipped May 1961

Both guns target stocks have the early style straight radius turn at the heel and are dark walnut or Rosewood exactly like the ones in post #2 and #3.
The Op stocks are beautiful but I usually associate the rounded heel radius sometime after the 19-2 introduction maybe even 1964ish, usually observe that style of lighter caramel GA coloring with heavy striping around 1966 and up until they dropped the diamond and a bit into the early non diamond era.

Ps, DARE do you know what year AMC that page is from?
Iirc the Model 19 ad showed non relieved target stocks up until around 1961 but If it is Im a little surprised it isnt listed as the "Model 19" and that they were still referring to the Combat Magnum as A "new" target grade model as it was 5 years old by then. Guessing it is more likely from 56-57 and if so what the 1961 AMC listed price was?

I see the Model 19 stocks in the picture now have a football cutout. Interestingly still refers to it as "New"
Ps,
Noticed the M&P pic now shows the semi target hammer spur but Magnas still appear to be the old pre 1952 high shoulder.
Love the minutia!

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the pictures. They are often out of date. Had not noticed the non-relieved targets in the 1956 AMC. My 1956 early production gun had the football cutout.
The 1941 AMC shows guns with the small trademark on the left side. That was changed to the large trademark on the right side in 1937.
