Charlie Kirk Shot

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...." -Charles Dickens, A Tale Of Two Cities.
If one watches and listens closely to many factors these days you have to actually be amazed that more stuff like this doesn't go on.

Charlie Kirk's death in the location and way it was done isn't a turning point by any means. We turned that corner long ago. What it does mean is just how far our society has fallen and how far individuals/groups are willing to go to shut some one up who doesn't fit in to their plan or vision. In many parts of the world, what happened is just 'business as usual'.

THAT is what is so pathetic and frightening about situations like this regardless of who they are done to, by, or where.

Most recent news report said he was shot from 200 feet, not yards, and a suspect is in custody. Seems little to no security was provided at the event. Nothing said about Kirk's condition.
One of the students present stated that he saw very few identifiable law-enforcement people there. Said there were always more security there during sporting events than there was today.
Leftist assassins and killer drones are soon going to make outdoor political events too risky for conservatives to do. The smaller drones can go almost anywhere; even through small open windows. Some of the more sophisticated ones have facial recognition capabilities.

"His words-not mine. Look it up."

Kirk said that after the Covenant school shooting in Tennessee. Victim Hallie Scruggs was the niece of a dear family friend. I trust his words will provide the Kirk family the same comfort the Covenant victim's families received from it.

"I can't stand the word empathy, actually," Kirk says in the video. "I think empathy is a made-up, new-age term that does a lot of damage."

The Christ was empathetic, not Charlie.

I don't think references to "the other side" help.

I don't think one side or the other, left or right, has a monopoly on crazies willing to commit violence against those with whom they disagree politically. I think such comments simply encourage the continuation of the violence.

(And I think a list of political murders — this shooter was a leftie, that shooter was a righty — is a fool's errand. They are all, uniformly, homicidal nutballs.)

As for Charlie Kirk, while I had not heard of him before his murder, no one deserves to be murdered for his or her political beliefs. I hope the killer is caught swiftly, and that, found guilty, he is executed.

Prayers sent for Charlie's family and loved ones.

This one has the earmarks of a professional assassination IMO. The longer the shooter is at large, the harder it will be to catch him. I am sick over this! He was a very descent young man just trying to educate college kids and did not deserve this. If they do catch the assassin I hope he gets the death penalty for his crime. I am sick to my stomach for his wife and kids!

I'm generally not one to engage in conspiracy theories, but I'll admit this is messing with me. How does someone get on the roof of a building of a college campus, take that shot and somehow manage to escape? I would think you would be a trapped rat up there. Whoever did this must have had knowledge of the campus, the building, and also proficient with a rifle.

While understand the sentiment, we're way past that now.

Two attempts on Trump and now this?

No sir. It's time for action. It's time to take a few behind the wood shed. And then some.

And the comments from the guy at MSNBC?

These people have a sickness. It's needs to be cured and eradicated.

We've been quiet for far too long.

I've watched quite a few videos of him correcting and educating quite a few people, mostly, IMO, uneducated nutty kids on college campuses and they haven't the education to argue with him, although they try. Bless him for trying. I'll leave out the adjectives of some of the people that try to outwit him. He was too smart. Someone blew a cork and will eventually be caught.
