Cheap good ammo?

Picked up some Herters 9mm at Cabelas/Bass Pro on Monday 100 round box for $31. About the cheapest I have seen. The guy at Cabelas said it was made for them by Federal. Shot some yesterday. Good shooting clean ammo. Cheaper by a couple of dollars than Blazer and other brands they had on the shelf.

Hey Tom, I believe that those are actually manufactured by Winchester Olin Corp.

OP, You're really a comical guy with the
"cheap and good" question these days.

I'll sum it up for you with "Cheap and Good" in a nutshell.

You have two chances...."Slim and None",
and "Slim" just caught the last bus out of town.

I heard I should use 124g brass ammo for my M&P shield 9? J&G sales website sells 1000 rounds for like $500. That sounds really expensive. Anyone know anywhere else I can get cheaper? Is nickel instead of brass, or 115g a good alternative? for self defense I use 124g +P JHP. I want to take care of my gun.

I'm looking for cheap good ammo for target practice.
I use Ammoseek.com. I like it because you can enter search parameters such as bullet weight, case material (brass only for example) and exclude REMAN ammo.

9 MM ammo (Herter's)

I have been getting the Herters 9 MM 115 gr ammo from Cabelas in Delaware. They sell in in box's of 50 & 100 rounds. the 100 round box's go for the low $30's. Several of the salesman at Cabelas say Winchester is the manufacturer, its not written on the outside of the box though. No problems with this ammo and its available.

Herters is made by Federal. Herters is made by Winchester. At one time it was made by Sellier & Bellot. I'm sure Cabelas has contracted with just about everyone at some point. It's like the Sears Kenmore use to be when Sears stopped manufacturing stuff. Most people never knew who made their refrigerator but as long as Sears stood behind it, it didn't matter.
