Check these stocks

These stocks are on my 38 #688719 witch we dicussed in another thread,were said to be from the 20's.I really think I have the correct pencil marks showing V81849.Is it a reality?Show me the stocks I should have.The group says its a BSR. 1940;s medalions?

Those would not be correct for a Victory Model from 1942. They would not even be correct for a so-called "pre-Victory" nor for an early BSR. Those are from the 1920s.

Early BSR and early "pre-Victory" stocks would look like the first picture below. Victory stocks look like those on the second picture below.

The stocks are 1920's with no medallions. It's a no brainer from what I am told. I have a 1926 and a 1927. No medallions in the 1920's
 
They are the type of grips S&W used all through the 20s decade. No medallions. Most early M&Ps, pre Lend-Lease, supplied to the British commonwealth were essentially civilian guns with factory bright blue commercial finishes and medallion grips. L-L BSRs shipped beginning in late 1941 mostly had plain smooth wood grips and a dull (beadblasted) blued finish all through the war.
