CHP 4006TSW with integrated rail

I may be wrong but I don't believe these 4006TSW (integral rail version) are or were issued to CDC. The ones on the open market must be from a retired officer's personal collection as the CHP has not sold these to the distributors as of yet. The 4006s the CHP released to distributors years ago were done so when the department transitioned to the new 4006TSW with the integral rail. The pistols that were not purchased by the officers themselves were then sold to a wholesaler.

The older CHP 4006s had adjustable sights, slide mounted safety, beveled mag well, solid steel recoil guide rod and etched with an additional control # on the frame. The current 4006TSW has a the integral equipment rail, slide mounted decocker only (no safety), fixed Novak sights, beveled mag well, steel recoil guide rod and a "CHP" prefix serial #. Hope this helps.

Regards

who in their right mind would trade a quality 1911 (colt or above) for any 45xx 3rd generation Smith made?
Me

You can buy another colt or whatever. You shoot good one, you've shot them all.

I don't own anything in 40 S&W, nor do I have any desire to, but when these guns hit the surplus market I can almost guarantee that I'll be buying one just to have.
