When I retired my partners asked me if I wanted the traditional retirement gift, and I deferred to St. Jude. One of the proudest moments of my life was the announcement at my retirement party that they had honored my wish and made a contribution in my name to St. Jude. I regularly contribute and enjoy the plaque honoring that gift on my study's wall far more than a Rolex on my wrist.
This is a wonderful idea! I am inspired to keep on supporting SJ.
A friend & I have a pact who ever croaks first the "last man standing" takes the deceased firearms and sells them & all proceeds less 10% go to St. Judes. He had cancer but survived . Seeing the children with it was heart breaking. We both have a back-up if we both go.
He has a daughter who has nothing to do with him.
I have 2 sons but if something means alot to them then can buy it.
$$ will go to a good cause.
