Christmas Kathy Update

First off, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Secondly, Merry Christmas to all

Ok, Special K had her surgery yesterday and it was successful. A 3 hour operation. She will be in the hospital for a week. She had a whipple procedure. Too detailed to explain but it is a major operation. It would have been much easier to see her intestine to the back of her tongue.

They found a small mass in the bile duct which will be tested along with other parts. She had a liver infection which they cleaned up. Now we wait for biopsy results, but it is possible that there is no cancer.

Enjoy the day!

Praying for her to have an easy full recovery.🙏

I am often a contrarian on some issues, but unlike some, I am a major fan of modern medicine because I am alive and reasonably functional with all the fun baggage I have. As I have told some of my providers, I don't have to enjoy this stuff, but I do have to appreciate it.

Congratulations on a successful procedure.

I had that surgery in May '23. Took a little while to heal up, and there's medication needed to digest (at least in my case), but I tell everyone that I'm grateful to be here to gripe about it.

Hopefully, the remainder of Special K's pancreas will continue to function correctly, and if so, it's all bonus from this point on.

Best to you both!
