Artificial.

When you live in Wyoming, trees are just too durn valuable to cut down for a couple of weeks.

Not sure what it's called, but I like the one where the branches point upward..for me, it's easier to decorate...If I had the room, I might go artificial, but for now I like a real live tree. Can't be the smell either.

Fake-the kids are gone, it's easy, no fuss, no muss....stick it down in the basement and drag it out again next year

YES!
When I was a kid we had a stainless steel tree for several years - I still miss it...
We also had a spot light or flood light with a color wheel in front of it. That was a great tree..........

We had one also...loved it. If you check ebay, a vintage one cost a small fortune now....

My wife insisted on cut trees for years

I thought cut trees were a waste of a tree and good gun money, and wanted her to buy a nice artificial tree. I always liked Leyland cypress, as the variety didn't drop needles all over creation. Two years ago, she caved in and bought a artificial that looks just fine when it is covered in decorations. I finally got my way, and it only took twenty-eight years.

Come on guys,I'm asking about real trees. Not fantasy trees.Even tho I had an aluminum tree in the '60s growing up.It was kool.I got Hot Wheels and Cox airplanes and.....Back to trees please.

Despite your pleas, artificial is the only way to go. No muss, no fuss, minimal fire risk and you can use it year after year. We still use the one my wife bought before we were married.

And they take up space until the next year and open them and find something growing or breading there.I live in South Florida.Storage can be an issue.

To answer the OPs question, we mainly had Scotch Pines when I was a kid. But, when I started buying them, I went with Blue Spruce trees; very nice.

However, several years ago, I went to a nice artificial, and really like the convenience... Looks good, no mess, 1x cost, and I only have to go to the attic to get it. We have small kids now, and have thought about getting a real one for them, we'll see...

If you gotta have a real tree. Go for a Colorado Blue Spruce.

I'm thinking of going vintage this year with the aluminum tree and multi-colored disc light. My grandparents had this style when I was a little guy and I think it's kinda cool in a Saturday night fever kind of way. :D

I'd like to get one of these lamps as well for the front window.

Ugh, fake trees..drives me crazy. My whole life growing up we had real, fat, bushy trees for the living room. That smell was the definition of Christmas for me.
Now, well, the wife and I just finished putting up the plastic fantastic an hour ago.

Man I miss that smell, I think scotch pine was the favorite of the parental units, cheap but full and very fragrant. Best looking tree? Definatly blue spruce. Man I miss those days.

Frasier it is.Wife got one fir 20bucks.Nice full little 4 footer.
I just got done setting it up with lights. Her turn now.:D

My wife is decorating a fake one as I am pounding this out! I dont think we even put it up last year.
I hate sounding like I sound, but everything major bad that ever happened to me always happened in december! I buried 4 different women in my life in decembers, my ex ran off with another married man and my daughter about a week before christmas back in 1985, 3 years ago december 14th I got my nose cut off due to cancer, back in 1971 I got in a terrible motorcycle crash that should have killed me in december,===I probley could go on if I concentrate on it!
