Chrome Revo Chambers?

One or two of the refinishing services that offer hard chrome plating will also plate the inside of the bore and chambers.

This doesn't really seem to help the chambers or bores other than making them easier to clean and less prone to corrosion.

I seem to remember years ago they had a chrome finish for the revolver chambers that was supposed to reduce lead build up and fouling in the cylinder. I do not know anyone who ever had it done.

Foolish question...but would a chromed chamber reduce the "grip" of the cartridge within the chamber and increase pressure? I know that this is a factor when shooting tapered cartridges in revolvers and wondered if it might apply here as well?

I have been curious if one of the fancy new surface treatments like NP3 or Melonite would help out a revolver for any reason beyond rust prevention. Like would a Tennifer treated blued steel revolver be as amazing as you would think or just a funny looking finish that is nice as it doesn't rust so bad. Yikes, what if Glock made a revolver... That would either be amazing or scary.
