Has anyone removed the forend hand guard to clean the outside of the barrel?? If so, how did you do it? If not, how do you get it clean?

There's a post on here somewhere regarding this. Do a search, you should find the info.

The end plate (for want of a better word) will pop off. I suppose you could swab it out from the end if you wanted to.

That's how I cleaned mine. Not perfect but better than nothing!

I used a barrel nut wrench to remove the shroud. Then replaced the barrel nut with an adapter nut so I could put on an AR floating handguard. Now it's a piece of cake to clean the outside of the barrel. The stock plastic forearm endcap pops out easily enough when you push up on the fingers that hold it in. This rifle is so much fun, I can't stand it.
