Picked up a clip draw for the Ruger lcp. It works fantastic. Since it came with extra adhesion strips I went ahead and tried it on the shield. I didn't have my phone on me so I couldn't snap pics while on the shield. Overall though it wasn't bad. Didnt feel too heavy and with the saftey it would be very safe to carry with no holster. It didnt weigh the pants or shorts down when I tried both. With the extended mag it was a bit much. But with the flush mag it was fine.

As far as on the Ruger its amazing. Makes carrying the gun so easy. Great for pocket, IWB or OWB depending on how you install the clip. High quality. Very easy to install and remove. And I nice it's installed with the adhesion strip it doesn't budge.

How do you like that LCP? I was gonna wait for the Beretta Pico to come out. But that thing is BUTT ugly and the grip is absurdly too small for the frame. I am looking into the LCP. I can live with the lack of last round lock open. Seems to be the only major feature that differs.

In my opinion its the best small/pocket gun on the market. I also like the bodyguard but that's bulkier.
I've had no issues with the Ruger.

Checked out the pico. I want one now. Already have a friend lined up who wants to buy my Ruger when I can get a pico. Desert tan for me please.

I have a clip for my keltec p11 and I wish there were a real one for the shield... Very comfortable and easy to conceal... I bought a versa carry fir the shield but I don't really know how much I like it...

I'm using a DeSantis sof tuck for the shield. I really like it

The LC9 is decent and a tad bigger but packs more punch without much bark. Something to think about. Ya the LC9 is still a pocket gun. Carry is great, counsel is great too.. I like my M&P's but sometimes a smaller gun has it's place from time to time.. As far as the clipdraw goes it has it's place too but I would always make sure the manual safty is on when clipping it on or on the draw.. I always like the trigger covered in a good leather holster.. George

With the shield yes the trigger should be covered. Or use the manual saftey, but with the Ruger and the god awful 10lbs trigger pull its pretty safe as is with the clip.

What 10Lb trigger pull are you talking about? Not so!!!! Light and smooth right out of the box.. George

It feels like 10lbs to me. I'm use to shooting my 1911's at 3.5lbs. Even the shield feels far lighter then the Ruger.

Yep My 1911's feel lighter too! But you have to agree you can't compare a LC9 to a 1911 right! No wonder a LC9 felt like a 10lb trigger to you... George

My original post to you was just suggesting a LC9 with 9mm power being the LCP you had and and assumingly liked was in .380! I was just trying to be helpful.. My out of the box trigger pull is a tad under 5lbs on my wifes LC9 saying it was very smooth and very light for a D/A trigger unmodified.. Again i was just trying to help suggesting a LC9 may also be a good choice for you Sir. I put the LCP and LC9 both in the class of a pocket pistol, unlike the small 1911's or compact M&P's.. Thought you may actually like the gun.. Sorry for trying to be helpful.. George

Sorry but the lc9 and lcp are not in the same size class for me. The LCP is far smaller. I personally am not a huge Ruger fan in general. Don't like the sr1911 not a fan of the lcr or lc range for that matter. I tried an sr9c and its just not for me either. The LCP just filled a nitch that no other gun did. Until seeing the new pico. That I would like to try for a pocket gun. I personally won't carry a 9mm. I carry my shield 40. If I can't then the lcp does the job. The idea is not to carry the smallest round possible, it's more so to carry the largest round possible for what I'm wearing. Weather that's my commander 1911's or my lcp. Typically when using the lcp I'd be wearing tighter jeans. The lcp would print too much.
Appreciate the info.

Maybe it's just me, but I really prefer to have the trigger guard of any firearm that's stuffed anywhere in my clothes to be covered. Be it a pocket holster or an in-waistband or out holster, that to me is the only way to safely carry. YMMV!

I would agree with you on most guns. But the Ruger just isn't one of them. The pull is very long and stiff. Not only that if clothing were to get caught on the trigger while drawing(which I couldn't get to happen no matter what i tried, the trigger would be pulled forward not rearward. So the the chances of an AD are highly unlikely. Again I'm only speaking for theLCP

Holstering is one of the most dangerous things you regularly do with a firearm. I can't imagine slipping that into your pants without something covering the trigger!
