I got a 2 cup drip coffee maker from goodwill for $6.
I have 2 cups in the morning.
I usually buy 8 o'clock whole bean, sometimes I get a bag of whole bean Dunkin'. If I can get Sumatra or Ethiopian I will splurge, but the availability is spotty at best.
I always make certain that there is enough coffee in the basket to provide a solid black stream of a nearly saturated solution in the carafe. If you can see the bottom of the cup when there is ~1/2 " left, it is too weak, and does not provide the full effect of the coffee experience.
If I run out of filters, I have a backup stove top percolator that makes great coffee.
Coffee is a gift from God.
Firehouse coffee is terrible. There were a few stations that took coffee seriously, but usually it was amateur grade, and not what I would consider to be real coffee.
Most folks cannot make a decent cup of coffee.
Black coffee is the best.
I also have a cold brew setup, and I will do that from time to time. It actually uses a lot of coffee. Most places have cold brew nowadays.
If you get the opportunity, you should give it a try. It is delicious.

I’m feeling quite uncivilized after reading this thread.

Doubt I could manage the processes some of you go through for a cup of coffee. I’m serious.

Good for you, though. Treat yourselves right and make yourselves happy.

It takes about 25 minutes to roast a 10oz cup of green beans, I usually do 2 batches at a time while doing other stuff around the house. I keep the grinder full and when the small box for ground coffee gets low I stick it in the grinder and flip the switch while I make my morning coffee. It doesn't take 15 minutes to make my quad breve and that is plenty of time to grind a couple days worth form the wife and I. She uses a pod machine and reusable pod.

Great coffee don't take much more time than poor coffee

We really like Kirkland brand from Costco.

My wife usually drinks 3-4 regular coffee cups a day. I do a short, wide yeti mug and usually only have 1, maybe 2 each day. We make it in a Delonghi brewer with a side espresso machine. Always caffeinated, since whatever they use to remove the caffeine generally leads to a headache or migraines.

We do have some boutique brands of beans or pre ground as well. However, we are mostly lazy and just use the big Kirkland tub.

We only drink 2 cups each first thing in AM with a flavored Bliss creamer. It brews in a Black & Decker 12 cup drip. Because caffeine has a 6 hour half life, if I have a 3rd cup in afternoon it is before 2pm and its made with a heaping teaspoon of instant Nescafe Taster's Choice House Blend. I've been drinking coffee since I was a teenager.

I buy a few blocks of Goya or Cafe Bustelo espresso off Amazon and send it through an old fashioned percolator. There are lots of other brands out there,anywhere from $3.99 to $9.99 for a 10 oz block. On cup in the AM is enough for me. Fair amount of half and half. No sugar.

Pretty strong stuff.

I didn’t drink coffee at all until I retired and could sit around in the morning and indulge. After trying many K cups I have settled on medium roast Kirkland because it is good coffee at a good price especially now that coffee keeps getting more and more expensive. I generally drink 2 cups a day.

Recently retired mom's percolator the power cord was starting to split. Bought a MR.Coffee 12cup and 10.3 can Maxwell House $6.96. Four cups 1 heaping scoop , six cups 2 scoops . Haven't made 8 -12 t coffee is too strong before I can finish. When I drove OTR the Freightliner had 1500 watt power converter used a 4 cup coffee maker coffee and bottled water , also used for instant soup and noodles

I drink Jacobs, I got hooked on it when I was stationed in Germany. We buy it on Amazon now. We make it with a regular old coffee maker. I drink between a pot and a pot and half a day.

The best coffee I ever bought off Amazon was Cafe du Monde from NOLA. With and w/o chicory. Great stuff. Cant duplicate the beignets though.

When I'm home in the morning I make a small pot of perculator coffee with five tablespoons of Sumatra coarse ground coffee, it serves up to large cups of the best coffee. My wife drinks half regular and half decaf all day long, then switches over to decaf when that first pot of her half and half is gone. I can't drink coffee after 5pm, it messes with me.
At the rifle club three days a week we usually drink that Kirkland French Roast, just about everybody knows to cut back to two nearly level scoops in the 12 cup machine we have. I prefer just about anything to the Kirkland, anything being Maxwell House, Folgers, etc. Im not crazy about the cheap stuff someone brings in from Winco. Im not real fussy but when someone gets the mixture right and that first sip is good I always make an effort to say "Hey good coffee this morning."
I had a buddy that owned a marble monument, countertop business. Been in his family three generations. Every now and then he would need a "kid", the "kids" job was to open up the shop, put the coffee on and begin sweeping up the entire workplace in preparation for the days work. He would pay them minimum wage under the table weekly and often managed to hang onto a "kid" long enough to begin teaching him the craft of cutting and polishing marble and other fine stones for that type of job. Some of his employees including his son and began as "Kids". He was telling me the other day that it has become increasingly difficult to hire a "kid". He told me that he'll get one sent to him to try out from a family friend, etc. He said the kid will listen to the instructions and for the first few days the coffee will be ready when John came in a 8:00 sharp every morning. That was really all the kid had to do was have the coffee ready by 8:00. He was telling me after about a week he comes to work and the shop is still closed, he goes in makes coffee and shortly afterward here comes the kid. He'll say something to the effect of "Your late." or "Is everything alright?" or "Hey what happened this morning?" He is most often met with "I've got a life Mr. Smith." He often then asks if this is something he has to look forward to because if it is he can make his own coffee in the morning and not deal with the aggravation of here today gone tomorrow.

a never ending quest for the perfect cup of joe... just an old mr coffee... usually in the 10 to 18 bucks a pound range... have become fond of bourbon barrel aged coffee lately... son brings me Bourbon Pecan Torte from a small roaster in Wichita.. try to brew a 10-12 cup pot and drink 4 cups... then make iced coffee for the next few days...

3-4 cups of Fresh Market generic in a drip coffee maker. Never decaf. Can't tell you the number of times I've seen restaurants/cafes pour decaf into regular or vice versa to fill a pot. A few years ago, I worked as a DOT weight inspector, working rotating 30-days shifts, 24/7. Doctor asked how much coffee I drank. I told her 3-4 a day. She said to cut back to 1-2 cups. I said, "No, Doc, it's 3-4 pots a day, not cups." She just stared at me and said nothing.

1 full cup at home before work. Tim Hortons, mostly brewed during the cooler months, Cuisinart brewer. Keurig in the summer as Mrs. QD67 doesn't usually drink coffee in warmer weather, and she's the one that brews the coffee. TH K-cups as well

No decaf. She drinks it with half&half, I drink it black.

I used to get McCafe K-Cups, but they seem to have gone downhill in flavor.

Keurigs are great when you want it quickly, but I find they don't heat the grounds as high as my Farberware. So first cup just for survival is a Keurig type , while drinking that, get the perc going for rest of morning.

I can drink any coffee as long as it’s hot ,black and strong. I usually drink PeeTs dark roast. I’ve tried buying whole bean and grinding it. To much trouble and I actually think it’s weaker. I can drink coffee any time, anywhere. I love it.

I used to drink several cups daily but I'm down to one now. I use an old-school Presto electric percolator and prefer whatever dark or French roast I can find on sale. Black and strong.
