Nice. I bought a 28-2 that had cokes on them. I sold them and basically paid for the gun with the proceeds.

These grips most likely did not come on a 28-2

Is it fair to assume that if you sold the cokes the price you paid for the 28 would diminish almost to nothing? Great find congrats.

very nice....i need to run into a similiar deal ....I need a set of cokes :D

Nice Score!

I was in my LGS a couple weeks ago and noticed a 24-3 sitting in the used gun case with a nice set of cokes on it. The price of the gun was way too high for me, but just on a whim I asked the shop owner to ask the consignee if he would sell the stock separately from the gun.

A couple of days later we had a deal, I gave him a set of like new target stocks that were correct for the 24 and $150 and the cokes were mine. I don't know whether I got a good deal or not, but the stocks I traded were some I have had so long I can't remember if I have anything in them or not.

And I got these:

I know y'all are talking about grips. But what what do y'all mean by cokes? Teach me please.lol!

During the 50s to early 60s, the target grips on certain Nframe models (29 and 57 as I recall maybe more) were different from the other models in that they had a larger checkered area, but more importantly they were shaped with a palm swell on each side. When viewed from the back the profile reminds folks of a Coke bottle, therefore the nickname "Cokes". If you get a chance to handle a gun so equipped you will understand the desire for these grips!

Thanks for teaching me something new today. I'll keep my eyes open and see if I can ever fined one of these.
