I was 10 years old when JFK was assassinated and remember it distinctly as I was in 4th grade and remember the principle coming to the classroom and notifying the teacher. I also had an uncle who was a special agent with the FBI who worked on the case. The tragedy has always interested me.

Last night I watched "Cold Case-JFK" on Netflix. It was produced by NOVA for PBS. It was a very interesting show that examined the shooting and subsequent conspiracy / multiple shooter theories using modern ballistic testing / forensics.

If you have an interest in ballistics or the JFK assassination I highly recommend.

I remember watching some show about this not long ago. They were examining some theories about who shot, how many shot....., etc. One guy was standing by a bridge overpass pretty far away and he got hit with shrapnel which couldn't have happened from where Lee was shooting. Also some people claim to have heard more shots then there were hits.

Anyway, they used video footage from the FBI investigation along with of course recreating the scene and what they found was that the first shot .....the one that was supposedly the original.... happened right as the limo passed by a light pole. The pole although in the distance came between the limo and the shooter. Turns out that pole is still there although it has been repaired and repainted many times since. Upon checking the part of the pole that hangs over the road they did find a ding in it. Using lasers for bullet trajectory they found that that bullet had hit the pole and veered off travelingon its new course until it hit a concrete slab near the bridge overpass thus spraying the bystander with chunks of concrete shrapnel.

So the first hot Lee took was actually the second

It was interesting

This is a different show. A lot of high tech ballistic analysis and testing of the bolt action carcano rifle and the round nose bullet it uses. Proves that Oswald was the only shooter and explains the "magic" bullet.

I was 11 at the time and living in Alexandria ,La. Dad was in the Air Force (SAC) strategic air command, England AB. On stand by waiting for next orders and high stress level for us and families like us as well as most other folks. I have driven through Dallas many times and finally made the effort to stop by Book Depository building. If given the chance and interested, I would recommend anyone to go through the now museum Book Depository building and decided for your self if LHO could have made the shot. Just might surprised ya, seeing the actual sniper position and how close he was to the open top Limo.

I was 15 at the time and remember it all very well. Like many with very limited knowledge of the facts, I believed for a long time that it wouldn't have been possible for Oswald to make the shot(s), especially with that rifle. Then, many years later, I happened to be in Dallas on business and found time to actually visit Dealey Plaza. I couldn't believe how small it is compared to how it appeared on TV and how close Oswald would have been to his target. That, and a frame-by-frame review of the Zapruder film pretty much convinced me that no conspiracy was necessary.

Not quite. It was a hanging traffic light which could have been hit by the first bullet fired, but the original traffic light was replaced long ago. But there was a photo of the old traffic light found in which it appears there MAY have been some bullet impact damage. We'll never know.

The assassination museum at the old Texas School Book Depository is an interesting stop if anyone visits Dallas. Everything is put in better perspective when you see the layout first-hand. You can even look out the "Oswald Window."
