We have here on this forum a real Southern Gentleman who bears a striking resemblance to Colonel Sanders and would be far better than that bad actor KFC is using.

Well, I just saw a NEW Colonel Sanders! It is Norm Macdonald this time. He replaced Darrell Hammonds (or did he?). I don't think the new one is near as creepy!

Yep and yep.

Saw an interview with Norm and he said a southern accent wasn't even attempted. It's a rebranding thing right or wrong.....or creepy.

I agree this guy gives me the creeps and worst thing he has no southern accent as that seems not to be PC presently either.

The first KFC I ever went to was in Ontario, Canada maybe early 60s or a bit later. It was a sit down restaurant and food was served family style on platters. They had some paper placemats and my little brother took one with an offer for a free Justin Wilson album which he sent in. He got a reply saying offer was no longer valid along with about five of his albums. Had never heard of the guy but cracked us up something awful.

Later years I did commercial restaurant equipment service. I did work in many KFCs and other fast food chains. I do have to sometimes put those memories out of my mind now before eating at some of them.

Buddy of mine is a little older and worked at an early KFC. He told me they used pressure cookers on stove tops then to cook the chicken. He said it was common if one hadn't had steam ports cleaned well that they they'd blow up through safety relief valve and make a real mess. I saw my Mom do that cooking a stew in a pressure cooker once and it is an exciting mess.

One time I walked into the KFC in Raton, NM.
Their grease trap was backed up.
I didn't go into another one for a couple of years.
Ok.
I did use the drive through.
