Hi folks,

I acquired these grips, thinking they were for S&W, based on the 2 other Smith grips in the lot. They are not ! :D

These seem to fit a Colt I/E (Python, others) and bear no maker mark inside. A number 13, ink-stamped just inside of the thumbrest, is the only identifier I could find.

Are these Sanderson ? Herrets ? I’d be curious to see who made them as they fit my large hands well.

All comments welcome.

I have a similar pair of stocks for a K-frame that I posted about last year. Initial thoughts from Forum members were that these were either Herretts or Sandersons, but most folks finally settled on them being Sile. Mine came on a Model 28-2...a previous owner had chiseled out the K-frame stocks to fit the N-frame. Mine aren't worth much, and are much too small for my big mitts.

Hard to tell from the top down picture, but that inletting doesn't look like a Colt pattern to me. Can you post a picture showing the inside of the panels?

Sure! I moved my last Python along, so can’t verify fitment. I made the guess off of the inlet area looking similar to the OEM and Pachmayr examples I still have around.

The forward locating pin or alignments pn holes tell me this grip will fit a Colt E or I frame. The checkering look too fine for a Sile grip. Most Sile brand grips will just have made in Italy stamped or printed on the inner grip, so that's another means of identification.
Also you show the grip screw threaded in from the Right grip. Your grip screw is a full length threaded screw, does it thread in from the Left grip as well?

One way only on the screw.

I agree that these likely aren’t Sile. For comparison, here are a set of Sile K frame thumbrest targets with finish stripped. These are also very much too small for my XL glove-sized hands, whereas the grips above fit superbly.
