Combat Masterpieces............Raining today and current crippled condition prevents my doing much anyway.
So ..........pulled out the 2 model 67's and a 2 of the model 15's for a photo.
1st photo: Top left: 67 stainless combat masterpiece purchased from a country store in the mountains and wearing my own finger groove combats. It came with ugly rubbers on it. I think someone tried to polish the SS on this one, but looks nice. I shoot this one a lot!!
Top Right:: 67 purchased in Lenoir a number of years ago...........nearly new and has a box. I have fired and sighted it in........but put up for now.
Bottom Left a 1951 "Pre-model 15 Combat Masterpiece still wearing original diamond grips. Purchased this one for $220 a few years back. Back then, these had a lot of hand-work and butter-smooth triggers. This one shoots just like new in spite of obvious wear. I like it so much that $600 would not buy it in spite of most saying it is not worth that much because of wear. NOTE the different hammer shape and slight bevels on the cylinder hole edges. I put the after-market Tyler Trigger Shoe on it.
Bottom Right. a 15-3 example from 1969 with unusual-for-model, but optional - wide target trigger, target hammer, white outline rear and red ramp front sights.........and Target stocks. This one has all the options !!! I shoot this one every couple years or so. I only paid $220 for it also. The options are worth at least two times that much!!!!
LAST 3 PHOTOS: a sort of special IRS-CID edition Model 15-4 made in 1984. There were 1172 made for current or retired IRS agents. This one is unfired after factory. The Nickel made for poor photos......sorry for bad lighting. The smooth presentation target grips on this one are the prettiest I own..........sorry the grain does not show up in photos.
It has engraving on one side of the barrel indicating an anniversary. Some may not be attracted to a gun so marked, but at $602 out the door for an unfired Nickel model 15, I could not resist!!
In model 15's, there are a couple others in 2", a couple in nickel, and a rare model 15 in 6" barrel. Too much trouble to dig all of them out.

. The last one I found in the $200 - 250 range required a total refinish. Thanks for posting. Needed a little Combat Masterpiece New Year joy.
