Hello, after leaving S&W for no particular reason, since I always loved their products, I figured I'd make a come back. Background is simply my two favorite and most dependable handguns are Smiths, a 686 and 3953, "LOL the '80s era 686 isn't for sale".
Funny story is I bought the 686 cause I needed a wheelgun for the Police Dept. academy and I couldn't find the new Ruger's or a Colt ANYWHERE! So I had to settle on my 3'rd choice, a SS 4" 686. Which BTW is now my favorite wheelgun and probably the gun I'm most attached to cause it saw me thru some bad years in some bad housing projects.
The other is a M-3953. Again I didnt want it but it was the smallest allowable S/A on our carry list at the time which also required a DAO trigger. For many, many years I carried it as a 2nd and have put untold thousands of rounds thru it of every kind of ammo you can think of. Ive had those magazines full of bullets 100% of the time and not once has it jammed on me. Not once!
So now I have one eye on the .380 BG cause I cant stand my LCP. It goes bang but I hate a gun that doesnt have a rear sight. That and I'm hearing good things about the little .380 BG.
The other eye I have on the look out for a used 3" blue'd M-29. They made a short run years ago, I think it was the 29-4. Also some shooters and cops sent their M-29s in and had the shop cut them down to 3". Anyway they are hard to find and are , rightly so, going for a premium price. I always wanted a M-29 but I want to carry it as well.
