Received an email yesterday announcing the Coonan pistol in 10MM. It's supposed to hit the shelves this fall.

I've sold one or two Coonan in .357 and they are fine made handguns. The grip of the .357 is too big for my hands.

They also offer them in .45ACP now, I'll find out how the grip compare to the .357 :)

And if you are on the fence and worry about holsters you can relax, just have a look at K Bar J Leather Co. - Coonan .357

I saw 'Hiccup 45' do a review of the Coonan .357 on a popular video website. Looks like a fearsome and well-made gun. I expect the 10mm will be equally impressive.

Just received another email; Coonan also makes a 9mm soon :)

From the email:

In addition, we announced our plan to follow up the highly acclaimed MOT .45 (now shipping) with a new 9 and 10MM offered on the same new (smaller) government sized frame. The 10MM is set to go into production first, with the 9MM to follow.

I'd be interested in the .357 at mid-range 1911 prices ($900 to $1100). At $1500 no thanks. You can get a Colt GCMN for the price of a Coonan - Ouch. They're more expensive and you lose interchangeable parts. Every person I've spoke to in person that has shot one mentions reliability problems. I hope the other models can be competitively priced otherwise I can't imagine they will sell many.

I'd just as soon get a tricked out PC 460XVR...
